Kickoff to Rebuild 2017
Rebuilding Together Houston partnered with its national group, Rebuilding Together, to host the 22nd annual community revitalization project, Kickoff to Rebuild, an NFL-sanctioned event, during Super Bowl LI weekend. On February 3, 2017, five homeowners in the Independence Heights neighborhood of Houston received critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, painting, landscaping and major home rehabilitation.
Lowe’s employee volunteers rebuilt a welcome center, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the community’s rich history and its significance in the Houston area. Volunteers also created a food pantry and a community green space.
The project was made possible with funding from lead supporter, Lowe’s, and additional sponsors including CBRE, City of Houston, Super Bowl Host Committee, Marek Brothers, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #716, and Services by Reliant.
