One home, one project and one community at a time.
Rebuilding Together Houston has repaired over 15,000 homes in and around Harris County for more than 43 years. These repairs provide families with safety and stability that can extend the life of a home for 20 years or more. In Houston alone, more than 100,000 seniors, veterans, and working families with children are facing daily hazards such as leaking roofs, broken plumbing, dangerous electrical systems, and holes in flooring that place their lives at risk. Our repairs don’t just make homes safer—they transform lives.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month!
On September 23rd, Rebuilding Together Houston hosted our 4th annual Rebuilding Juntos, proudly sponsored by Reliant, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a special focus on home repair in the historic East End. Guests enjoyed delicious food from Daniel Hinojosa, lively music by Lupe Olivarez, and the chance to come together in support of sustainable home repair. Thanks to Reliant’s dedicated crew, Ms. Cisneros—a 70-year-old caregiver whose family home was severely damaged by storms—received the repairs needed to help restore the place she has cherished for more than two decades.
And the celebration continues! Crews from Latin Women’s Initiative, Cheniere, and Telemundo will soon be revitalizing the East End for three more homeowners. Ms. Franco, a devoted mother raising three daughters, will see her 1940s home restored into a place of pride and safety for her family. Mr. Jaramillo, an 89-year-old Army veteran, will be able to continue aging safely in the home that has anchored his family for nearly 40 years. And Ms. Omana, a grandmother of 23 facing health challenges, will soon receive the critical repairs she needs to remain in the home that has sheltered her family for generations. Together, these stories reflect the heart of Rebuilding Juntos: honoring heritage, strengthening community, and ensuring every family has a safe, resilient home.

Anthony and Lafonda Pradia are one example. Mr. Pradia is a veteran of the U.S. Army, whose movement and income are hindered by a disability he sustained during his service. Their house suffered damage in 2017 during Hurricane Harvey when a neighbor’s tree crashed through their roof. Since then, they have been living in sub-par housing conditions, unable to afford much needed repairs to this home that was built by his grandfather many decades ago.
Thanks to our integrated team of professional contractors, dedicated staff, and caring volunteers, the Pradias’ prayers were answered when they discovered our free home repair services in 2023. They are so grateful for our repairs so they can age in place in a safe and healthy home that they can be proud to pass on to the next generation.
Your gift can make the difference for neighbors living in homes that can be saved so 2025 will be safer, brighter, and more secure.
